About this product

Dark brown oak veneer The Met x Eichholtz introduces the Papyrus Dining Table, defined by sculptural form and rich materiality, bringing timeless elegance to the heart of your dining space. Crafted from exquisite brown oak veneer with an expressive open grain, this table draws subtle inspiration from ancient forms. The base design echoes the organic geometry of an ancient column capital in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, reinterpreting it into a contemporary silhouette. Its presence is both grounded and graceful, making it a distinctive centerpiece for refined interiors. INSPIRATION The Papyrus Dining Table reimagines a capital that crowned the column of a kiosk built in front of the temple of Amun at Hibis, in Egypt’s Kharga Oasis. Dating to 380–343 BCE, this artwork from The Met collection combines stylized representations of the common papyrus and foxtail flatsedge plants—an early example of composite capitals that united decorative botanical forms into one cohesive design. Eichholtz honors this legacy by translating the Egyptian capital’s rhythm and symmetry into the sculptural base of this modern table. L. 300 | W. 120 | H. 76 cm (BY ORDER)
